Food & Wine

Because your tour is tailor made just for you, it is entirely up to you if you would like lunch to be included. And if so, we can suggest various options – from wood-fired pizzas, gourmet platters, two-course lunch with wine at a winery restaurant, catch your own trout and enjoy it cooked and served up to you for lunch at a nearby pub, you can even have a degustation that takes half a day – just let us know.

Of course, just let us know when you’re enquiring about a tour and we can advise you as to where would be best accordingly.

Bringing your own lunch is a great option if it’s a sunny day as we know of many beautiful spots where you could enjoy a picnic. Might not work so well on a wet or cold day. And absolutely we can give you options according to your budget and you get to choose where you go for lunch.

There are a few cellar doors where you can try vegan wine but not many, so we do need this request before we start putting together your itinerary together.

We aren’t licensed for you to drink alcohol on the bus however we are happy for you to eat some snacks and provide a bin on board for wrappers and rubbish.

Pick-ups & Transfers

Absolutely we can. To minimise the amount of time you have to spend sitting on the bus and to avoid sitting in city traffic, we recommend we pick you up from Parliament Station (opposite the Windsor Hotel) as it’s easy for you to get to and easy for us to get you out to the Yarra Valley nice and quickly from there.

Yes we can. If you are sailing that day however we recommend a half-day tour so you (and we) aren’t stressed about getting you back to the boat in time to sail.

Yes we do. All the time. Let us know your flight number and we’ll get back to you with a quote.

Of course. Let us know the address of where you’re staying and we’ll pick you up from and drop you back there.

Kids & Babies

There’s heaps for children to enjoy on a tour – let us know their age when you enquire and we can suggest all sorts of activities from seeing the indigenous animals at Healesville Sanctuary, to kayaking on the river, riding a steam train, picking fruit, climbing through treetops, even doing a craft workshop. We know the best playgrounds and wineries with rolling lawns to play on, so if little people want to run around we can build that into your itinerary.

Yes, just let us know when you enquire and we’ll do our best to arrange what you need.

Places & Activities

Absolutely, check out these suggestions of non wine related activities.

In addition to tours of the Yarra Valley, we also create tours of the neighbouring Dandenong Ranges, famed for its hilly winding roads, quaint villages, 100-yr old steam train Puffing Billy, dramatic look-outs, giant tree ferns, beautiful gardens and cream teas.

All our tours are tailor-made here at Tour the Valley so we work closely with you to find out what interests you and then create a day out that you will love. That is why we get you to fill out a questionnaire telling us a bit about you when you enquire, so that we can come back to you with some touring suggestions.

On Tour

All our tours are custom-made, we don’t run any public tours that you can join. We can create a day’s touring just for you, based on your interests, just let us know what you want out of your tour.

The cost varies depending on each aspect of your tour, ie whether you want a full or half day tour, including lunch or not, if so what type, and what activities or tastings you want to include in your itinerary – we help you work all that out when you enquire.

Yes we can – we have a range of different size vehicles and can hire additional buses and drivers if required.

Our Kia Carnival  carries 7 passengers and our bus, Toyota Hi Ace Commuter, carries 11 passengers and we will hire additional buses and drivers if required.

Depending on what you want to taste, we work out an itinerary and quote you a price stating which tastings are included. Often we exclude cider, beer and gin tastings from our quote so that you can decide on the day if you would prefer to share a tasting paddle (the tasting paddles come with three gins and four beers/ciders).
