Sharon organised a weekend in Healesville with 7 girlfriends and contacted us for a private winery tour so they could reminisce about their previous overseas trips together.
A weekend away from your daily routines is SO good for you – as is a weekend away just with your girlfriends, it stimulates your senses to visit new places, and of course in the Yarra Valley – you can do a tour and try new wines!
St Huberts was the first winery we visited and the girls were right at home with an early morning wine tasting.
We then took them up the windy lane to Helen & Joeys, one of our newer wineries in the valley with its terrific views, to say hello to Bruce the unicorn, and his unicorn friend, after which we went inside for an interesting and knowledgeable wine tasting with Stephen.
By contrast we thought we’d take them next to Punt Road as it’s one of the oldest wineries in the Yarra Valley, and the girls opted for a wine tasting rather than the offer of a wine paddle, although we all agreed it looked very enticing!
We lunched at Tokar Estate Winery which was a big hit with the girls, as they got to do a wine tasting before their delicious 2-course lunch where they could choose which wine to have with their lunch (a complimentary glass no less) all of which made for a very relaxing and enjoyable time and a great opportunity to catch up on gossip.
After lunch we paid a visit to gorgeous French boutique family-run winery Dominique Portet, where yet another wine tasting was enjoyed.
We rounded off the day’s tour with some tasting paddles at the fabulous Four Pillars Gin Distillery before getting the girls back to their accommodation by 4.30pm. I think a little rest may have been in order by then 🙂
If this sounds like the kind of ideal relaxed day out you might enjoy with a group of friends, fill in our tour questionnaire and let us know what you like and we’ll get back to you with some great itinerary options.
