When Paulo and Ella (who are over here from Brazil on a 2 year working visa) decided to treat themselves to a weekend in the beautiful countryside of the Yarra Valley,  they chose The Burrow at Wombat Bend (which is one of our favourite B&Bs to recommend to people too, a gorgeous mudbrick B&B set on acreage overlooking a wonderful wetland full of birdlife, it’s magic).  And The Burrow’s lovely owner Sue suggested they tour with us, Tour the Valley, to truly see all that the diverse Yarra Valley has to offer.

So John picked Paulo and Ella up from their accommodation and took them to Badger Creek Blueberry Farm knowing they would love a wine and cider tasting and he was right, they LOVED the Blueberry wines, cider and liqueurs and bought some to enjoy later.

Next John took them to Maroondah Dam to the dramatic lookout and dropped in to Boat O’Craigo for a wine tasting and to enjoy their superb views of their vines from their cellar door.  By this time it was time for lunch and they were off to well known winery Rochford Wines where after lunch, they had yet another wine tasting.  And why not, after all they were in the Yarra Valley!!?

Meletos was a big hit for cider and beer tasting and a tour of Stones of the Yarra Valley where the ‘Love’ sign was there from a recent wedding which Paulo & Ella enjoyed having their photo taken by, as they were married before they came to Australia.

John managed to fit in a quick visit to the infamous Yarra Valley Dairy for a cheese tasting as well as a chocolate indulgence at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie before driving the lovely pair back to their accommodation at The Burrow at Wombat Bend where they were looking forward to another night in The Burrow enjoying the beautiful bushland setting.
