There’s no shortage of top shelf wineries in the Yarra Valley. And if you particularly want to visit some, let us know when you enquire.
Maddens Lane is home to some of the finest vineyards in the region, on some of the best terroir. Back in 1969, Dr Bailey Carrodus found his ideal site and planted 12 hectares of vines at the foot of the Warramate Hills, now known as Yarra Yering. James Halliday, wine maker and now critic, established Coldstream Hills further up the lane in 1985. Squitchy Lane, Medhurst Wines and Maddens Rise are stand out smaller wineries on this same road, and all are well worth a visit.
Domaine Chandon, owned by French parent company Moet & Chandon, is just across the road from Maddens, and a sparkling tasting at Chandon is a lovely way to start your tour. Their views are magnificent, as is the riddling room which you might get to see into if you’re lucky.
Come and taste some of the best of the best of the valley’s wines on your tour – just ask us to include some ‘top shelfers’ in your itinerary.
We’re always here to answer any questions you might have, so email us or call today on 03 5962 5940 and let’s get your Tour the Valley tour arranged.
