We love having the flexibility to arrange tours last minute for people – so when Nick and Ann called us on Wednesday looking for a tour the next day, we were able to help out with a private tour where none of the other tour companies could, and put together a great personalised tour for them of the Yarra Valley.

So John collected Nick and Ann from their lovely cottage at Harvest Farm in Badger Creek – they had arrived from Brisbane on Wednesday afternoon to spend a few days in the Yarra Valley to celebrate Ann’s 35th Birthday.

First off John took them to look at the spectacular view out over Maroondah Dam, as it is a gem of a look out and then popped in to Healesville Glass Blowers to see the artists at work which was a real treat.  So, having worked up an appetite, it was time for a wine tasting at Innocent Bystander where Nick and Ann were impressed with the wine being served on tap.

Knowing the pair love collecting good reds for their cellar, John headed to Yarra Yering for their next tasting where they enjoyed the reds and purchased some to take home and share with their friends.

By now it was lunchtime and Tokar Estate Winery came up trumps with a delicious lunch washed down with a glass of wine.  After lunch John headed off to Meletos for a cider and beer tasting paddle each and gave them a tour around the buildings on the property – and they loved the beautiful old architecture.

De Bortoli’s was our last port of call where they indulged in a cheese platter with their wine tasting.  On the drive back to Healesville John stopped in at Kitchen and Butcher, a rather fabulous deli so they could buy some goodies to enjoy with their wine they had purchased.

Nick and Ann loved their private last minute tour of the Yarra Valley and enjoyed all the places they got to experience – it proved to be a great way to celebrate Ann’s 35th – and we love the photo of them lying down with the daffodils – on a private tour you see, you get to do whatever you want!
