Jack toured with us last year for his 26th birthday and had such a great time that he booked us again for his 27th on Saturday, for a private tour with 18 of his friends!
So after piling into the buses at Olinda Creek Hotel we set off for a paddle of gin at Healesville’s Four Pillars Gin Distillery to kick start the day – setting a nice relaxed pace for the day’s celebrations.
Mellow from gin we then drove over to Greenstone Vineyards at Yarra Glen where the group loved their wine tasting conducted by Joanne out on the deck. As it was Chinese New Year, the deck was decorated with Chinese Lanterns waving in the wind giving it a great atmosphere. They were running a fun competition – If you were born in the Year of the Dog you could win a bottle of Greenstone wine and the lovely Emma, one of our party, was a lucky winner. Dumplings were enjoyed by quite a few of our group too – pretty hard to resist really aren’t they?!
We headed back to Healesville for lunch at Innocent Bystander – great Paella and Wood Fired Pizzas washed down with beer, rosé and Moscato slushies!!!!
After lunch it was time to shake things up a bit, so we took them to Meletos for some cider and beer tasting paddles which they took outside to the garden area and sat out under the umbrellas relaxing, chatting and enjoying trying the different varieties on their paddles.
The group finished off their day meeting up with more friends at the Dorset Gardens Hotel where we dropped them.
It was yet another great birthday for Jack enjoyed by all including us tour guides – see you next year Jack – same time same place – maybe next year we’ll branch out to include the Dandenongs!
