Four couples from Sydney were having their annual get away – and this time they chose the Yarra Valley – and were staying at the lovely cottages at Healesville’s Yarra Gables Motel. John did a series of dinner transfers for them plus a tour for the ladies in the group while the men went golfing.

John collected them from the motel at 10am and took them straight to the newly opened Innocent Bystander for an excellent wine tasting; it was exciting to be there in their first week of opening and the group had dinner there later that night.  Knowing how beautiful the colours are at the Blue Lotus Water Gardens, and that they are open at this time of year, John took the group there for morning coffee where they loved the water lillies; the colours were stunning.

As it was such a beautiful day we fitted in a quick visit to the lookout at Maroondah Dam before heading over to Tokar Estate for lunch where they enjoyed a wine tasting as well as their meal.

Our final visit for the day was to the Chocolaterie where they bought some hand-made choccies, after which they were happy to get back to the motel to rest before John collected again, to take them to Innocent Bystander for dinner.

On Thursday, the men played golf at Yering Meadows and the ladies took
themselves off to Coombe Melba Estate, Domaine Chandon, Yering Station and Alowyn
Gardens before John collected them for their final dinner in Healesville at Herd – which they just loved and wished there was a similar restaurant near them in Sydney.

They were a fantastic group and it was a pleasure touring with them and transferring them to and from their dinners, and helping to make their week so enjoyable.
