What better way to celebrate your 32nd birthday than with friends on a personalised tour of the beautiful Yarra Valley.  We picked up Lorraine and five friends (three of whom had flown down from Sydney to help celebrate her special day) from Southbank and headed back out to the Yarra Valley to start the birthday celebrations at none other than Four Pillars Gin Distillery in Healesville.  This was a big hit with the group who loved the different gins in their gin paddles and threw some cocktails in for good measure.  Elton gave them a great presentation after which they kicked back in the sunshine with their drinks.

It seemed a shame to have to leave but John had a treat in store for them with a visit to the gorgeous Bev at Hanrahans Winery where she laid on a gourmet BBQ for them with a wine tasting and again the girls got to sit our in the sunshine with some bottles of Hanrahans’ wines.  They particularly loved the Chardonnay and the reds.

After farewelling Hanrahans with its stunning views, it was time to visit one of the Yarra Valley’s best know wineries, ex Halliday owned, Coldstream Hills, for a wine tasting and a relaxing glass of wine out in the sunshine again.

To showcase how diverse the Yarra Valley’s offerings are, John took the group to Meletos for a cheese platter and a cider paddle which the girls loved.  With such great architecture at Meletos, Stones, the Chapel, and Stables Restaurant, John gave them a quick tour and on such a sunny day it was the perfect day to see these gems.

Given how fortunate they were with the weather, the girls were able to spend plenty of time relaxing out in the sunshine with a glass of Yarra Valley wine, beer, cider and gin! And for a birthday tour, you can’t beat it really.

After their fun packed day, John dropped them back to Collingwood where the celebrations were to continue over dinner.
