This group of family, friends and visitors from Stuttgart in Germany were enjoying their last day in Melbourne together and wanted to visit the Yarra Valley for the first time, so chose Tour the Valley for a private wine tour, as Anna had toured with us before. We love repeat guests!
So John pulled out all the stops and treated them to a varied and fun day starting at Helen & Joey’s for a wine tasting and a ride on “Bruce” the Unicorn which went down well with all the family! From there they headed to Meletos for some cider and beer paddles that
they really enjoyed and then there was time for a quick visit before lunch, to Coldstream Hills for a tasting with Roland whose wine knowledge the group found really interesting.
When the group arrived at Tokar Estate they had a great wine tasting where they tried a variety of wines which helped them to decide what wine to choose to go with lunch. After a slap up 2-course lunch, John took them to Healesville so they could go to the award-winning Four Pillars Gin Distillery where they all had a gin tasting. Ali was particularly interested in their distilling process as he makes his own Schnapps back home in Stuttgart and everyone loved the concept and the copper stills.
We finished off their visit to the Yarra Valley with some hand made chocolates which they saw being made at the Chocolaterie, enjoying samples along the way and buying some to take home.
As it was a private tour, when the sun suddenly shone John was able to drive and show them lovely views over Maroondah Dam and of course collect and drop them back to their private address in Preston – door to door – which is all part of our private wine tour service. As is the fun!
