When you really fancy a weekend away from your husbands and children, tour the Valley can help plan your Yarra Valley escape and create an itinerary just for you where you get to decide what to include in your day – Corrina chose wineries, breweries, cider, chocolate and cheese!  So that’s exactly what Joan planned for Corrina and her old school friends who were enjoying a weekend away.  On Saturday, John collected all eight of them from Langbrook Cottage in Yarra Junction where they were loving their cottage. From their accommodation they could watch the cattle, chooks and even spot the odd kangaroo all while Honey (the resident dog) kept a close eye on them all.

We took them first to wonderful historical winery Paynes Rise where we knew they would enjoy their wine tasting as well as a tour of the fabulous old homestead on the property – you really can imagine what life would have been like 100 years ago, thanks to the old homestead there for us all the wander through.   After the tour, we set off to Morgans Estate for a great wine tasting and met Matilda, the winery cat.

We chose Killara Estate for lunch and another wine tasting and the group enjoyed their leisurely lunch with wine and coffee all whilst overlooking the valley.  Meletos was next, to try some local cider and beer paddles and we sat inside, out of the rain, and really enjoyed the different flavours on tap.

After all those alcohol tastings, it was time to mix it up a bit, so John took them over to the Chocolaterie for some chocolate tastings and purchases and then to finish off the day, they headed up to De Bortoli’s where they sampled their wines accompanied by some cheese.

John got them all back to Langbrook Cottage around 5.30pm after a really fun day and the group were looking forward to relaxing and opening a bottle or two that they had purchased during the day!!
