Leanne was turning 50 and her daughter’s Jacinta and Ashley organised a half day wine tour with us as Jacinta had toured with us before on her own birthday.

Joan collected them from their accommodation at Valley Ride in Warburton – and their brief was – they wanted to go to 3 or 4 wineries for some wine tastings and to relax and enjoy the Yarra Valley with their niece, aunty, workmates and friends – 11 all in all, enjoying being together on a private Yarra Valley half day tour.

We made the first stop Morgan Vineyard in Seville as it is a lovely winery on that side of the Upper Yarra Valley and the group managed to buy some great Christmas presents and Leanne’s niece bought her a beautiful bottle of wine to enjoy at home.

Then we visited Helen & Joeys for a ride on Bruce the unicorn and a great wine tasting with Stephen out on the deck.

Each time we left another winery on the bus, the music they were playing got turned up a notch and everyone was singing away merrily – Joan confesses even she joined in at times.

Greenstone Vineyards was next on our itinerary and they had a great wine tasting with Steve and loved the view.  And Steve commented that they were the “most fun group of the day” – which went down well.

Our last stop was Badger Creek Blueberry Farm, which is a lovely cellar door where you can taste blueberry wine as well as St Ronan’s Cider, (which recently won best Australian Cider at the Australian Cider Awards) and Leanne and her group had a wonderfully relaxed time, sitting outside with a glass of wine, cider or coffee and of course listened to music.

Joan had them back to Warburton by 5pm where they were looking forward to relaxing and possibly having a swim in the Yarra before some dinner.  If you’ve got a special birthday coming up and you’d like to put together a great fun afternoon of wine tastings, or a whole day for that matter – you know who to contact.  03 5962 5940.
