Just ask Tegan! She’s just celebrated her 30th birthday with her family and friends on a private Tour the Valley tour and the entire itinerary was personalised just for her. And they had THE BEST DAY.
1. YOU CREATE YOUR OWN ITINERARY (WITH OUR HELP)
Tegan contacted us 2 months prior to her birthday and we worked closely with her to create the perfect itinerary that fitted her requests – she chose the wineries she wanted to visit, we gave her various options and pricing for lunch venues, we suggested various other tastings she could include and 14 emails later, we had created a totally personalised itinerary just for her 30th birthday tour.
2. GET VIP TASTINGS IN PRIVATE ROOMS
John collected Tegan, her mum and 14 friends from Melbourne’s CBD on Saturday and drove them out to Chandon for a rather special private sparkling wine tasting, followed by a lovely glass of their favourite tipple to enjoy outside under the shade of the trees. A private tasting at Chandon is only possible on a private tour and makes your party feel very special.
3. CHOOSE EXACTLY WHERE YOU WANT TO HAVE LUNCH
After she’d considered all the lunch venues we proposed, Tegan chose a shared lunch menu at Healesville’s Innocent Bystander where she had selected in advance the paella, pizzas and dips menu, washed down with lashings of wine. A relaxing lunch just with your group is one of the highlights of a private tour, you can properly switch off, be yourselves and enjoy a great catch up with your friends.
4. IF YOUR NUMBERS CHANGE, WE FIND A SOLUTION & MANAGE IT ALL
As often happens, numbers change when you’re organising a large group, and Tegan’s group changed from 15 people up to 17 and then back down to 16, and each time we just adjusted numbers at all our reservations with the wineries and lunch venue. That personalised flexible service is part of having your very own tailor-made Yarra Valley tour. One member in her party was vegan so we did some investigating to ensure she would be able to enjoy vegan lunch options and vegan wine tastings options too. St Huberts was a lovely choice for a wine tasting under the elm trees after lunch – and we finished up their day with a wine tasting at Helen & Joeys where Bruce the unicorn was a great hit and it was good to see his wife Beryl and baby unicorn Barry back on the deck with him.
5. WE CAN BE FLEXIBLE ON THE DAY ITSELF – AFTER ALL – IT’S YOUR TOUR!
When Tegan asked if three of her party could be collected from a different pick up point we were more than happy to oblige. Had this been a public tour, this wouldn’t have been possible as it would have affected the other passengers. But when all the passengers on the tour are part of your group, we can respond on the day and make adjustments to the day’s itinerary according to what is working for your group. If you’re enjoying a tasting and want to linger longer, we can sort that; if we find we have an extra half hour to spare, we can add in another wine tasting or make a quick detour to find ice-creams if that’s what your group want to do (oh yes, this has been requested before!) – everything is possible when it’s YOUR private wine tour.
We had Tegan and her friends back to the city by 5.30pm after a great fun day with plenty of laughter – and it’s a great feeling driving back to the valley knowing that Tegan had really enjoyed her 30th Birthday with us at Tour the Valley.
